Mona Grindberg
BSc PhD BVMS MRCVS
Having worked in industry as a research director within drug development at GlaxoSmithKline, a change in circumstances meant I could retrain for my 'dream career' as a vet.
On qualifying, I was thrilled to be offered a position at Castle Vets, and some years later I've found myself 'reverting to type' by taking on the managerial role of lead vet at the practice.

Head Nurse
I studied at the University of Pretoria and received my Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 1997. I worked for 5 years in private practice and then for a company specialising in security work with German Shepherd dogs, which I breed, train and show back home.
In 2008 I moved to the UK with my husband and started work at Castle Vets. The newest addition to our family is a springer spaniel called Holly.
Veterinary Nurse
I joined Castle Vets in August 2009, and within a month had rescued an unwanted kitten called Dexter. Six months later and Dexter has a new feline friend called Felix!
I help run the nurse clinics at Castle Vets and have a special interest in nutrition.
Student Veterinary Nurse
A few years ago I would never have believed I would be training to be a veterinary nurse, but when one of my cats underwent a tricky operation, I was inspired to give up 15 years in publishing to begin my new career.
I go to college one day a week, where I'm really enjoying my nursing training.
I am a student veterinary nurse, studying for a degree at The Royal Veterinary College.
As part of my course, I undertake work placements in practice, so you will see me at Castle Vets regularly.

Practice Manager
I have worked at Castle Vets since March 2006, working my way up from part-time receptionist to Practice Manager.
I live with two dogs and three cats (and a daughter when she's home from university). I have always been an animal lover and have successfully puppy walked three gorgeous labradors for Guide Dogs and fostered over 50 kittens for Cats Protection. When not covered in pet hair, I relax by cooking and enjoy trying out new receipes.
Receptionist
I am recently married and live in Framlingham with my husband Ben, two jack russells and 30 chickens! I have worked in the veterinary industry as a nurse and receptionist for nine years.
I have an interest in animals with diabetes as I am diabetic myself. I arrange puppy classes at our Framlingham branch and can often be seen manning reception at our Wickham Market surgery.
Fiona MacGillivray
I have lived in the Debenham area since 1997 and worked at the Debenham branch of Castle Vets since 2003. I have four teenage children and two tortoishell cats, Scrabble and Cluedo, who were rescued as kittens.
I am interested in gardening and have a lot of wildlife coming into my garden, including pheasants, partridges, pigeons, rabbits and the occasional deer and kingfisher.
Consultations
All our consultations are 15 minutes long, to make sure we have plenty of time to discuss everything you wish to raise. We encourage you to see the same vet each time you visit us, although, of course, the choice is yours. We feel the best pet health care comes from building strong, long-term relationships with our clients and their pets.
Puppy Classes and Behaviour
We offer puppy classes to all puppies after they have completed their virst vaccination course. Classes cost just £30 for a six week course and include puppy socialisation, basic training, and advice on worming, flea treatment, neutering and dental care. They are run by Lucy Bingley, our Pet Behaviour Counsellor. (Lucy also offers individual pet behaviour advice on a one-to-one basis.)
Acupuncture
Mona offers acupuncture to dogs, which can ease arthritis and help manage pain.
Nurse Clinics
Our nurses run various clinics at Framlingham, including weight clinics, nail clipping, post-operative checks, and advice on parasite prevention.
Medical and Surgical Procedures
From routine neutering to ultrasound, dental work and chemotherapy, Castle Vets is well equipped with up-to-date equipment and knowledgeable staff to ensure your pet gets the best health care.
Visiting specialists are available for consultation for pets with serious heart conditions, skin problems and specialist dental treatment.
Pet Passports
Don't leave your pet behind! Castle Vets is able to offer pet passports to cats, dogs and ferrets travelling between the UK and European Union countries without the need for quarantine - this is known as the Pet Travel Scheme. It is important that you make plans well in advance of your journey - we recommend that you contact us at least 8 months before you plan to travel.
